clever chaps

it's been two months since the last post and there is a pile of news to catch up on. We've had a lovely holiday in Devon and a super long weekend in Scotland.
Dad continues to recover his strength and improve his capabilities; managing three steps with active support from three staff, standing unaided for up to two minutes at a go, is fully articulate in his speech when he doesn't go too fast and has even managed to call up Mum on his mobile from the ward...!
Tegan has started at Weydon High School which is 'goodly'..! I prefer this term to the 'sick', 'lush', etc. terms of her peers... Making new friends and influencing people is the order of the day, although hard choices have had to be made for lunch-time and after-school activities.
Connell has played in his first two matches for Bourne Blades Badgers U10 alongside his best friend Barney, who scored in both games; see and photos on Snapfish. Both T & C now playing their tennis at Kingsley Tennis Centre having switched from Brightwells.
Carey is winding down her time at Marlows and completing the Year End accounts and looking for new and interesting things to do.
Oh and I had my contract renewed to 8 January today, which is nice...!

cubic capacity

all done in, I am... Friday and Saturday at Cub Camp preceded by a night under canvas... all in the best possible taste though, as an official leader on Camp this year, I had responsibility (in loco parenthesis) for six small boys in the Goldfinger team, as it was a James Bond themed camp. Some camp milestones, 48 cakes had to be consumed between 18:00 on Friday and 16:00 on Sunday - tick, done. 48 boys had to negotiate 8 x 45 minute activities on Saturday; canoeing, slippery slope, caving, a-frame over water, quadro, archery, air-rifle shooting and an obstacle course - tick, done. A further 8 x 20 minutes on Sunday...-tick, done. 48 boys packed off to bed and slept all night - work in progress. What they forget to tell you is that you too will get soaked, tired, injured and worn out by the whole experience, so much so, that you will be volunteering to do it again next year before you leave site...! Must get a longer tent next time...
